Size guide

Measurements:

(S) SMALL: UK size 6 - (82-86cm hips)

(M) MEDIUM: UK size 8-10 - (87-96cm hips)

(L) LARGE: UK size 12-14 - (97-106cm hips)

If you are in between sizes, we recommend sizing up for Collection Number 3 but sizing down for Collections Number 1 and 2.

We will make more sizes available in the future, we promise < 3.

How sizing works.

Because cotton is less stretchy than synthetic materials, we may recommend sizing up for Collection Number 3 but sizing down for Collections Number 1 and 2 if you are in-between sizes.

If you are typically the above sizes in clothing then you can stick with that size for all collections. But, if you feel you are in-between sizes (such as 6-8 or 10-12) then we would recommend:

  • Sizing up for Collection Number 3 (the one without the elasticated waist band).
  • Sizing down for Collections Number 1 and 2 (the ones with the elasticated waist bands).

If you’re at the top end of large and can't size up for Collection Number 3, the lighter colours will fit you best.

If any feel a little tight at first, please note that after a few wears and washes your underwear will soften, stretch and become more supple.

Can the colour affect the sizing?

Yes, like many other clothing and underwear brands, lighter colours tend be thinner fabrics and therefore have slightly more stretch than darker colours due to the dying process, but the difference is minimal.

FAQs

What's my size?

Because cotton is less stretchy than synthetic materials, we may recommend sizing up for Collection Number 3 but sizing down for Collections Number 1 and 2. Please use our size guide quiz for more info.

Does cotton stretch?

If any pairs feel a little tight at first, please note that after a few wears and washes your underwear will soften, stretch and become more supple. Please be careful if intentionally trying to stretch them out as you will pull at the seems.

How do I wash my cotton panties?

Wash on a 30°C cycle and do not tumble dry. Like many fabrics, cotton will only shrink if you wash it on very high temperatures. A bit like denim, cotton can feel a bit tight and stiff when it has first been washed. But, as you wear it, it will loosen up.

How do I take care of my cotton panties?

Treat your cotton with care. Without elastane for stretch, cotton is more fragile. Please do not wring your cotton when wet or wear panty liners as the adhesive pulls at the seems (panty liners defeat the point of your bits breathing too!).

How do I return my item?

Health and hygiene is paramount for us. Much like many high-street retailers and to ensure all of our customers receive products unworn, we have a no returns policy for underwear. If your product is faulty, then please contact hello@cottoncoup.com.

Where is my order?

You will have received a tracking number by email. Please click the tracking number to be linked to a tracking site.

Why is cotton better for my bits?

Cotton underwear is made from the natural fibres of the cotton plant, which are spun into threads and then woven or knit into a breathable fabric, perfect for everyday wear. Unlike underwear made from synthetic fibres, cotton lets your bits breathe. The more breathable the fabric the more air circulation there is down there, keeping your bits fresh. This means your bits can have less odour and bacteria build-up, and a better PH balance. Learn more here
